Pros

It's free. It was a quick download of the program.

Cons

It was very slow converting to the "Matroska" video format that was offered. I found that the Matroska video had a considerable amount of pixelation, so it was deleted. I could find no way to convert an MP4 video to a DVD format (.iso?) which could be iso9660 (or H.262) format. Useless software.

Summary

Find a better converter for your DVDs. It downloads mp4 okay, but that's easy!

Pros

You can download simultaneously on the the highest resolution available and it is the fastest on I have ever used without those annoying pop ups. I have been using YTD ever since but so far this is the best. It can even convert and just download the audio only in a resolution of your choice.

Cons

I just hope in the very near future, that it can download video and audio only simultaneously as well.

They have come a long way ever since, just imagine those high resolution videos that are available that they have to catchup and made downloading a breeze, reliable and wow, its just so amazing .

It frees up disk space WHEN YOU DELETE IT!

Cons

Install isn't stable. Took three attempts. Throws up a fixed screen to "hide" what it does to your browser (and who knows what else?) Changes your browser preferences to make Yahoo! the home page and the page that opens when a new window is opened. Appears to download youtube video - but doesn't save a file.

Summary

If this software just didn't work, it would be better. But not only does it not work, it also sabotages your browser preferences.

Update: This software will also change all your search engine preferences to Yahoo! You can't just change them back. You're stuck until you remove the malware files installed by the software. I used Malwarebytes and it worked without incident. I have three browsers installed (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). All three had malware files associated. If you love Yahoo!, don't mind someone else configuring your browser for you and really want youtube download software that doesn't work - this is the perfect app for you!

Paste URL using Free Video Converter. You may need to install Free Video Converter "Gold Pack". I searched YouTube and found a site promoting a "Gold Pack" free download (with full support from Freemake). Viz the result:- "Here is your key to activate Gold Pack for Freemake Video Converter. Please note that the key is for personal use. You can't sell it, share it or publish online."

3 minute maximum for video downloads. Upgrading is not free. Better free video down loaders are available (hence my one star rating).

Nothing special that other free programs don't have.

Cons

No easier to use than any other program. Video options only go to 2K. No 4K or higher support. No ability to change download format to MKV like other programs. YouTube now has their high res videos in MKV format. Auto update needs to be left on. Having to enter a YouTube account or password is ridiculous as it's never needed for any vid with other free programs. Also, other free programs don't brand the video at all. No faster than other programs either. Program does not have the ability to download the first 25 vids of a playlist automatically if at all. Program does not offer the ability to download audio. For that you need their audio downloader. Should be incorporated like other programs.

Summary

From what I see, even if you paid for the "full featured" version it can't even come close to the excellent "free" versions of other programs out there. Making a donation to get a sub par program makes no sense at all.

Quicker downloads than other download programs. Easy program to use.

Cons

Had some problems with the program because it did not automatically update. Caused the program to want a YouTube password and it still would not work. I found the solution on the support page . It took some trial and error to fix it but once I manually updated the program and added YouTube as an account it worked fine.

Nice program and worth the money. I used YTD download program but it had a lot of malware in it and it was slow downloading even though it was free.

Freemake Video Downloader is a product that is very easy to use and still remains effective. The user interface is minimal and facilitates the use of the software. The options are small in number, not to say non-existent. They are not necessary for the application to realize why it was developed. Freemake Video Downloader lets choose the resolution of videos up to HD and 4K from many hosting sites. It allows the extraction of sounds with its integrated converter which is quite fast. This free product is artificial because the software contains limitations such as download speed or branding. To eliminate them you must buy packs whose price is still reasonable. Product installation is quick and easy after downloading the installer. User should just control the installation of additional products with the Freemake product. As for the support it is quite responsive and responds quickly and well to the resolution of the problem encountered. Freemake Video Downloader remains my favorite tool and utility for downloading videos and music. Wonderful product!

Does Exactly what it is supposed to do. 1. You enter the URL of the video. 2. The software gives you choices of the different quality downloads of The Video that you choose. 3. You pic the one you want and the software downloads it to the directory that you chose. Simple and Perfect.

Also, the technical staff is EXCELLENT! I had a small problem when I tried to delete and re-install the software (missing key because I had donated to this great project), and the staff had me back up and running in no time.

Cons

I can't really think of any. The software just works perfectly for us.

Love Freemake Video Downloader. The software does what it is supposed to do and very easy to use. The technical staff are More than helpful in the event you should have a problem. Are there other ways to download videos?....Sure...But out of everything that I tried, I came back to Freemake Video Downloader for keeps. I Loved it so much, I sent in the small donation to get the bonus that they offer. Yes, it is freeware and works just fine as such but for just a small donation you help the people that spend countless hours developing the software AND get a little added bonus in the deal. It's a win/win.

absolutely nothing. recommend this to someone you hate.

the free version doesn't let you choose what quality 144, 240, 360, 480 720 or hd. no high quality is available to download only low quality.

the multiple downloads don't work. most videos will end up cut off, missing audio or missing video.

the pause and resume features do not work. will definitely result in defective and incomplete downloads.

i made the mistake to buy the 'full version' which is just as bad as the free version. and despite their "90 day money back guarantee" they refuse to refund my payment.

their customer service is nonexistent. even basic questions for tech support they don not answer. and questions for their money back guarantee they just ignore or ask you to provide them data expected of a beta tester. i am not their unpaid beta tester and i refuse to supply them with links. i supplied them with screen shots of all the times the program crashes, and sent in files of faulty downloads. no response. BAD COMPANY

forget this company TEnorshare. don't waste time with their free version and do not waste your time and money on their paid version.

I have a Windows 8 personal computer with 64 bit. I try to download this video downloader to my pc and then to download 3 videos at the same. Well, the speed is fast. It takes 15 minutes to download them.

Cons

At first when I see this product name, I think it supports Windows phone. But then I realize that it is software used in pc not the mobile phone.

I had a great problem while DOWNLOADING LECTURES from YouTube by NCERT for my kid, Sometime the link break and re-start the entire download again, and if some videos downloaded have the format which was not supported by my television set, to get rid of this I searched, downloaded and installed 4K Video Downloader. First of all, using the software for almost 2 years and it is quite amazing that it continues to improve which already a great software. The downloads are very fast and the quality of the video doesn't get deteriorated after the processing. And also it is not resource-intensive, so it is good for old computers too. Works like a charm. It is incredible how fast, easy and reliable videos are downloaded to mp3 or other formats. I really recommend this program to all! This program has helped me studies quite a bit. I travel between uni and home 1,5h per ride, which is the perfect time to work. To do so I used 4k Video Downloader to download Tutorials for CAD Programs I study with. This allowed me to watch the videos offline on the train and, if needed, allowed me to only download audio when I do not have sufficient space for many videos! Keep up the good work! I am certain you are helping a lot of other students pass their studies with great marks!

I've been using and profiting from 4K Video Downloader for years, especially after ClipConverter ran into issues. The best feature it has (which I've not really used much) is bulk downloads, where you can easily download entire playlists and channels.

I have used 4K Video Downloadhelper since it was in beta in 2012. Unfortunately, I have had a few computer crashes since then and so I don't thave an accurate count of the downloads that I have made with this product. I can say that between April 30, 2012, and May 12, 2017, I have made over 300 downloads with this product. It is simple, fast and accurate. It is, without question, my "go to" program for downloading videos. I always get the highest quality version of the video and it plays back on any player I have tried. I have tried MANY other products that download videos, but they are usually slow and only give you a low-quality video (unless you are lucky). I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is interested in a quality product that is available for free and works beautifully. My hat's off to the developers of this program.
